Henry James and Cynthia Ozick

VENTRESS LIBRARY CLASSIC BOOK GROUP TO DISCUSS THE AMBASSADORS BY HENRY JAMES AND FOREIGN BODIES BY CYNTHIA OZICK ON TUESDAY, APRIL 17, 2012 FROM 4:30-6

The Ventress Memorial Library in Marshfield hosts an ongoing book discussion group. The next session will meet on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 4:30-6:00 in the library's Historical Room. We are doing a pairing this time. . .because we read and enjoyed Edith Wharton, we thought we would read something by her friend and fellow writer Henry James. Then, in light of the success of a past pairing of Pearl Buck and a modern novel we thought we would pair Henry James' "The Ambassadors" with the 2011 novel by Cynthia Ozick, "Foreign Bodies," which is retelling of James story in a photographic negative. Sign up in advance to reserve a seat, or just come on the day to listen. The program is free and open to the public. New members are always welcome. If a copy of the book is needed, contact reference librarian Chris Woods to place them on hold through OCLN. Light refreshments will be served.
