Moby Dick

VENTRESS LIBRARY CLASSIC BOOK GROUP TO DISCUSS Moby Dick by Herman Melville ON TUESDAY, March 22, 2011 FROM 4:30-6

The Ventress Memorial Library in Marshfield hosts an ongoing book discussion group that seeks to delve into classic literature and find fresh insights while considering modern-day perspectives. The next session will meet on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 4:30-6:00 in the library's Historical Room. March's featured classic title is "Moby Dick" by Herman Melville. First published in 1851, this richly layered epic adventure novel of the high seas is recognized as one of the greatest written works of the English language. According to Nathaniel Hawthorne, to whom the book is dedicated, the writer Melville "could neither believe nor be comfortable in unbelief." Contact reference librarian Chris Woods if you need a copy of the book or click on the title link to place the book on hold yourself. Sign up in advance to reserve a seat, or just come on the day to listen. The program is free and open to the public. New members are always welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
