This month we are trying something a little different. The library recently acquired a license for showing movies and we thought it would be fun to mix it up a little and sometimes show a movie version of a classic book we are reading. So, this month we will be watching "David Copperfield" on Thursday,January 20, from 4-8. (It's a long movie!) What's a movie without dinner, so we are encouraging members to bring a hearty horsd'oevre that doesn't require heating up or a lot of cutlery. Examples might be bite size quiches, spinach pies, cheese/crackers, crudites, little meatballs, salad rolls, etc. We will also need somesweet items or fruit for dessert. Please RSVP if you are going and what you are bringing.

The group will discuss Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the book's July 11, 1960 publishing date. Set in the American South during the 1930s, the author weaves a story around class and race tensions. The book was voted by librarians as the best novel of the 20th century in a Library Journal survey.
